Best 25 Companies to Work for in Australia in 2019 according to LinkedIn | CV Saviour

Thinking of applying for a new job? Or are you a fresh graduate looking for the best place to start a career? Here’s a guide to point you to the right direction.

LinkedIn has just released the Top 25 Companies in Australia for 2019. The list includes top employers in the finance, banking, construction, management consulting and retail industries.

LinkedIn collected feedback from its 10 million users and studied the companies based on 4 main criteria: interest in the company, engagement with employees, job demand and employee retention. To make it to the list, companies should also have employed atleast 500 workers starting 1 February 2018 and display employee growth in the next 12 months. LinkedIn, Microsoft, non-profits, staffing and recruiting firms, educational and governmental institutions were all excluded from the research.

From number 5 last year, Westpac Group now tops the elite list. The financial institution was distinguished this year for its support for gender equality and for indigenous communities in Australia. Westpac also offers 20 days of leave with support for employees affected by domestic violence.

Management consulting firm, PwC Australia is this year’s number 6. PwC is recognised for providing its 8,000 national employees with generous parental leave benefits and for giving importance to diversity and inclusion by allowing their workers to wear work clothes that make them feel comfortable.

Salesforce, a Digital Media company, made its list debut at number 8. The company gives job screening opportunities to people based on skills and not just their degree.

E-commerce site Amazon made it to the top 10 by persevering its company principles: customer obsession, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence and long-term mindset.

The companies that were not in last year’s list but were rewarded this 2019 are Salesforce, Amazon, Woolworths, EY, CBRE, Colliers International, JLL, MinterEllison, AGL Energy, Herbert Smith Freehills, IAG and Allens.
