If you didn’t – you’re not  alone. A whopping 17% of organisations didn’t increase salaries in 2015.

But what else has been happening in recruitment this year? We’ve taken a look over some the trends in recruiting this year and have come across some interesting facts from a number of surveys.

For instance, a survey by Hays showed that in 2014, 56% of employers increased salaries by less than 3% and 22% increased salaries by 3 – 6 %.

The same survey showed that the top 3 benefits on offer were:

  1. 56% – salary sacrifice (What is salary sacrifice, you ask? It’s when an employee agrees to forgo part of their future entitlement to salary or wages in return for the employer providing them with benefits of a similar value. when an employer offers you benefits. Find out more here)
  2. 38% – above mandatory superannuation
  3. 34% – parking

Speaking of salaries, if you’re not sure where you stand in relation to others with the same skills sets as you, there are a number of great tools available in the market where you can compare your salary with what others are getting on sites such as Glassdoor or Emolument, or you can request a copy of the Hays salary guide for 2015 here.
